Laura Sings Raffi is now available on all streaming platforms! I’ve had an absolute blast putting this all together. What a relief it is not to have to pretend to be Laura Marling for a while.
I am so grateful to Raffi and his beautiful catalogue of work - this year is the 50th anniversary of Singable Songs for the Very Young - long may it continue to bring joy to young and old alike.
I’m enjoying this all so much that I’ve begun work on my next children’s music project - Laura Sings France…sample below. I’ve gotten deep into French nursery rhymes as part of my never-ending and until now fairly demoralising journey to learning and retaining basic French. There are so many incredible French children's songs. Looking forward to sharing more here soon and furthering my chances of being able to live in France at some point.
Which leads me to ask whether any of you know of any native French tutors who are also musical and based in London? To help me with pronunciation - if you do please do let me know!
My version of Dans Sa Maison Un Grand Cerf:

I'm listening to this at work, my nervous system is well and truly calmed. Thank you Laura.
I am based in Paris, but I am also a musician and I teach French literature at university, so if you need help, I’d be happy to give you some advice for this beautiful project!
